A View From a Bench

One of the garden’s goals is to make good use of the limited space we have.  And that means make room for the benches!

Now that we’re in full spring of Spring, why not make more seating available to our visitors?

The tip of the garden, by our beautiful mural kiosk, always becomes impossible to navigate once we’re in full bloom, so we decided this was the year to make it a usable space.  Now when you come into the Bear’s garden, you know where to find an out-of-the-way spot to read a book, contemplate life, or just take in the lilac blooms!

Welcome!

Come in!

Last year, we rehabbed the Flatbush entrance to include a Belgian block entrance and two side benches.

Moving stone!

We moved stone and slate to create benches on either side of the Flatbush entrance.

Not Stonehenge, just our bench!

We notice that visitors really take advantage of these benches by the gate.

And that’s a good thing because a bench is to sit.
