The rain has subsided! It’s a little cloudy right now, but the sun will be out tomorrow. So what to do?
If you are around Union Square and reading this now, you could check outNYC Grows.
And there are, of course, the cherry blossoms. I love the map that the Brooklyn Botanic Garden set up to keep track of their “blooming status.”
Or, you could learn about the wonders of composting at the Carlton Avenue Community Garden today, starting a little after 3pm.
A great event that is happening all weekend long is the Clean Clothes and Fair Food conference. The conference began last night by questioning what “fair” means to both the producers and the consumers of food and clothing. There are lots of terrific events still to see and participate in, including a 3pm Rally for Fair Food at Burger King at 7th Ave & 40th St., a performance by Reverend Billy and his Choir tonight (8pm) at Broadway Presbyterian Church, 601 West 114th Street on Broadway, New York, NY, and a panel tomorrow morning at 9:30am entitled “From Supporters to Partners in the Struggle for Fair Food.” If anyone attends and would like to report back with details please contact me.
Lastly, don’t forget to get yourself to the Pacific Street Garden on Sunday for the Weenie Roast and a chance get your photo taken at one of the most beautiful gardens in Brooklyn!
